Samuhik Abhiyan is Nepali word that literally translates to "Joint Effort". This encompasses the intent of the founding members, a group of development professionals, social activists and development trainers, that their members' joint efforts would build a responsible civil society in Nepal. SAMUHIK ABHIYAN (SA) is a non-profit, non-governmental social development organization founded in 1992. SA is registered under Society Registration Act with District Office Kathmandu, and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council. SA was given special consultative status at the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations in1999.
